This is the recording of the second panel discussion, “Fundamental rights, civic participation and local authorities”, of the event “Post-election: Civic participation in local government”, which took place on November 9, 2019, in Vlaykova cinema, Sofia. The panel was moderated by Vanya Kaneva, member of BOLD. The speakers included Alexander Kashumov from the Access to Information Program who spoke on “Access to information”; Dr Krassimir Kanev, chair of the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, who addressed “The rights of assembly and freedom of expression”; Lyuba Batembergska, from “Small Steps”, who spoke on “Children’s participation in a democratic society”; and Alexander Karakachanov, who commented on “Civil rights and local government”.
