Professor Antony Todorov teaches at the New Bulgarian University (Sofia). He studied international relations and received his PhD on recent history in 1988. In 2009, he also received a PhD in political science.
Antony specialized at the Center for the Study of French Political Life (CEVIPOF) (1993), Sciences Po (1994), the East-West Institute in Prague (1996) and the Institute for Social Policy Research in Paris (2017). He has been a visiting professor at the Free University of Brussels (2009-2016), the University of Burgundy in Dijon (1999, 2002, 2007), and the University of Bucharest (2009-2016). He was a member of the Association Council of the Francophone University Agency (2013-2017), the Board of the International Institute of Social Sciences (UNESCO) in Byblos, Lebanon, the Scientific Council of the National House of Human Sciences, France, the Board of The Higher Francophone School of Administration and Management in Sofia (2007-2011) and of the Advisory Board of the Diplomatic Institute in Sofia, as well as Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Association of Political Science (2002-2012). He was also adviser to the President of Bulgaria Republic on political messages (2007-2011).
His publications include: The Quality of Democracy in Bulgaria, co-edited with Dobrin Kanev (2014); Elements of Politics (2012); Citizens, Parties and Elections: Bulgaria 1879-2009 (2010). His research interests are in the field of democracy, elections, political parties, political behavior, and comparative politics.
